World Wi-Fi-Free Day

World Wi-Fi-Free Day is an informal invitation to take a break from being constantly connected. It makes room for things that need no notifications: a conversation, a walk, a book or a game around the same table.

How it is celebrated: participants put phones aside, spend time offline and arrange activities without a connection. There is no fixed ritual, so each person or group chooses the length and shape of the break.

Switching off Wi-Fi does not necessarily disconnect a phone from the internet. Mobile data can keep messages arriving, so one switch may not deliver the intended pause.
