Rosgvardiya Property Protection Service Day
October 29 · Level 8 · #455 of 2238
This professional observance recognises Rosgvardiya’s property protection personnel. Their work includes guarding homes and other premises, responding to alarms and helping maintain public safety—duties that often attract attention only when something goes wrong.
How it is celebrated: units congratulate serving personnel and veterans, present awards and acknowledge distinguished service. Ceremonial gatherings also provide an opportunity to revisit the organisation’s history.
The Russian term for the service literally means “outside departments.” It reflects a founding idea: one security service could protect premises belonging to different organisations, rather than guarding only its own institution.
