Serbian Constitution Adoption Day
October 29 · Level 5 · #1309 of 2238

This anniversary recalls the 2006 referendum in which Serbian voters approved a new constitution. It offers a moment to consider the country's institutions and citizens' rights, although it is not a separate nationwide public holiday.
How it is celebrated: there is no established national celebration. Historical coverage and discussions of constitutional affairs revisit the vote and the role of the country's fundamental law.
The referendum lasted two days, 28 and 29 October. The calendar entry therefore marks the final day of voting; parliament formally proclaimed the constitution later, on 8 November.
