Father's Day in Germany
May 14 · Level 7 · #683 of 2238

Germany's Father's Day celebrates dads with a day for company, fresh air and time together. It falls on the Christian feast of Ascension, so it always lands on a Thursday and moves each year with Easter.
How it is celebrated: families plan outings, while groups of men head out walking or cycling. Some pull a Bollerwagen, a small handcart carrying food and drinks for stops along the way.
You do not have to be a father to join the traditional outings. The occasion is also known as Men's Day.
