Russian National Guard Troops Day
March 27 · Level 9 · #238 of 2238
Russian National Guard Troops Day recognizes the service of Rosgvardiya personnel. It focuses on duties including public security, protection of important facilities and counterterrorism, while also providing an occasion to remember earlier generations who served.
How it is celebrated: formal gatherings include award presentations and meetings with veterans. Wreath-laying and remembrance ceremonies honor personnel who died in the line of duty.
The date was inherited from the former Interior Troops Day. Its historical reference reaches back to the establishment of the internal guard in 1811, more than two centuries before Rosgvardiya itself was formed.
