Russian Interior Ministry Press and Public Relations Day
June 10 · Level 7 · #879 of 2238
This observance honours the press and public relations teams serving Russia's internal affairs bodies. They prepare news releases, answer journalists' questions and help the public understand official information about policing.
How it is celebrated: departments congratulate colleagues and recognise their work with awards and commendations. Ministry publications introduce some of the people who usually remain behind the scenes of news coverage.
The job involves more than writing clearly: investigation details and personal information cannot simply be released. Even a short public statement can require careful checking of every phrase.
