International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations
June 10 · Level 6 · #938 of 2238

This United Nations observance promotes understanding between people from different cultures and traditions. It encourages respectful conversation and curiosity about other people's experiences as ways to challenge prejudice and make cooperation possible.
How it is celebrated: discussions, cultural exchanges and educational events bring participants together. People explore one another's art and traditions, consider shared concerns and practise listening to different perspectives.
The UN established the observance in 2024, with the first celebration taking place in 2025. That makes it a relatively recent addition to the international calendar.
