World Mobile Phone-Free Day
February 6 · Level 2 · #1935 of 2238

World Mobile Phone-Free Day invites people to step away from calls, messages and the urge to check a screen. This informal observance offers a chance to notice everyday phone habits and make room for a conversation or an activity that deserves undivided attention.
How it is celebrated: participants put their phones away for a few hours, silence notifications or arrange a gathering without devices. Walks, books and board games give idle thumbs something else to do.
French writer Phil Marso proposed the initiative in 2001, before smartphones became everyday companions.
