Russian Interior Ministry Migration Units Day
September 11 · Level 6 · #1109 of 2238
This departmental observance honours the Russian Interior Ministry's migration staff. Their duties cover passports, registration, citizenship matters and migration compliance, connecting their everyday work with major changes in people's lives.
How it is celebrated: units congratulate serving staff and veterans, present awards and commendations, and recognise their teams' professional achievements at formal gatherings.
Despite the name, migration units do not work exclusively with foreign nationals. Issuing internal passports to Russian citizens is also part of their remit.
