Lud Interregional Folk Festival

Lud is a summer folk festival where people from several regions meet to share songs, crafts and customs. Its name comes from Udmurt tradition, where lud is tied to a sacred place used for ritual gatherings.

How it is celebrated: visitors watch folk ensembles, wander through craft fairs, try their hands at workshops and taste traditional treats.

The Udmurts have long held their prayers and festivities outdoors, close to nature. That is why the modern Lud is happiest on a wide open meadow rather than inside a hall.
