Internet Day in Russia
September 30 · Level 8 · #510 of 2238
Internet Day in Russia is an unofficial celebration of the network behind everyday work, learning, conversations and shared games. It also recognises the people who build and maintain the websites and services that make those connections possible.
How it is celebrated: users exchange greetings, and specialist publications revisit the history of the Russian internet. Internet businesses and professional communities mark the occasion with gatherings and discussions about the network's development.
There is another date in the Russian internet calendar: April 7 marks the registration of the .ru domain in 1994. That domain anniversary is separate from September's Internet Day.
