International Watercolor Day
November 23 · Level 5 · #1205 of 2238
International Watercolor Day celebrates painting with transparent pigments and water. It brings seasoned artists and first-time brush holders to the same table.
How it is celebrated: artists paint outdoors, run workshops and exhibitions, and share their work online in themed challenges.
In 1503 Albrecht Dürer painted Great Piece of Turf in watercolor and gouache, a precise portrait of a clump of grass that is still admired as a masterpiece of botanical art.
