International Transgender Day of Visibility
March 31 · Level 5 · #1246 of 2238

This day celebrates transgender and gender-diverse people and draws attention to the discrimination many of them face. Its aim is to make their lives and achievements seen and respected.
How it is celebrated: communities hold public gatherings, talks, exhibitions and online campaigns where people share their stories. Many wear the colours of the trans flag, light blue, pink and white, and show support for friends and relatives.
The day was founded in 2009 by Rachel Crandall-Jackson, an activist from Michigan. It differs from the November Transgender Day of Remembrance, which is a day of mourning, while this one focuses on living openly and with pride.
