World Backup Day
March 31 · Level 4 · #1540 of 2238

World Backup Day is an informal reminder to give important files a second home. Photos, work documents and treasured messages can disappear with a broken device or an accidental deletion. The day encourages a simple habit that makes those mishaps much less painful.
How it is celebrated: people copy their files, set up automatic backups and check that saved data can actually be restored. It is also a handy occasion to help family members protect their digital keepsakes.
The familiar 3–2–1 rule means three copies of your data, on two different types of media, with one copy stored offsite. The original counts as one of the three.
