International Read Comics in Public Day
August 28 · Level 2 · #1976 of 2238

This day asks you to take a comic out of your home stack and read it where everyone can see. Fans use it to show that picture stories are proper reading, nothing to hide.
How it is celebrated: readers carry favourite issues to a park, a café, a train or a queue and simply open them in public. Some swap new finds with strangers, and others photograph a comic against the city backdrop and post it online.
In Japan, reading manga on the commuter train is an everyday sight, and thick weekly manga magazines have long been a familiar travelling companion.
