International Lynx Day
June 11 · Level 8 · #556 of 2238
Lynx Day shines a light on the secretive wild cats of Eurasian and North American forests. It is a chance to talk about how to protect these predators and the habitats they need.
How it is celebrated: zoos and conservation groups host talks and quizzes, and children draw lynxes with their famous ear tufts.
There are four lynx species: the Eurasian, Canada, Iberian and the bobcat. In 2024 the IUCN moved the Iberian lynx from Endangered to Vulnerable, a rare conservation success story.
