International Country Music Day

A day for everyone who loves guitars, banjos and songs about the road, home and love. It brings country fans together around the world.

How it is celebrated: fans play favourite records, throw listening parties and gigs, pull on cowboy hats and boots, and swap playlists.

The town of Bristol, on the Tennessee–Virginia border, is called the birthplace of country music. The famous Bristol Sessions of 1927 were recorded there, with the Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers among the artists.
