Russia's HR Professionals' Day is an unofficial celebration of the people who keep employment processes running. Their work supports hiring, leave and other important moments in employees' working lives, with a great deal of careful record-keeping behind the scenes.
How it is celebrated: colleagues congratulate HR teams, managers thank staff and professional communities arrange meetings or seminars. Some workplaces mark the occasion with a small gathering over tea.
Russian personnel specialists have another unofficial celebration on 12 October. A May greeting may therefore be the first of two opportunities to thank the same team.
