Grandmother's Day in Poland
January 21 · Level 1 · #2218 of 2238
Grandmother's Day in Poland falls on 21 January. Grandchildren say thank you for the care, the home baking and the endless patience.
How it is celebrated: children make handmade cards, called laurki in Polish, nurseries and schools put on concerts for grandmothers, and at home families lay the table and give flowers and sweets.
Grandfather's Day follows on 22 January, so Polish grandparents get two celebrations back to back.
