Ukraine's Fire Protection Day
April 17 · Level 9 · #252 of 2238
Ukraine's Fire Protection Day honours those who prevent fires, fight flames and bring people to safety. Alongside courage in emergencies, it recognises the daily preparation behind that work: training, equipment checks and teaching others how to avoid danger.
How it is celebrated: firefighters receive congratulations and service awards, and fallen colleagues are remembered. Public education activities introduce firefighting equipment and explain fire safety, with arrangements depending on local conditions.
Ukraine has a separate Rescuer's Day as well. These closely connected areas of emergency work therefore have two distinct professional observances in the national calendar.
