Russian Military Transport Aviation Day
June 1 · Level 9 · #395 of 2238
Russian Military Transport Aviation Day recognizes the crews and ground specialists who move people, equipment and supplies by air. Their work supports military operations as well as aid deliveries and evacuations.
How it is celebrated: aviation units hold ceremonial gatherings, present awards and welcome veterans. Events recall unit histories and acknowledge the technicians whose preparations make every flight possible.
A transport aircraft can deliver cargo without landing. Parachute drops make that possible, but they require careful calculations and preparation by both the aircrew and the specialists who secure and rig the load.
