Russian Armed Forces Pipeline Troops Day
January 14 · Level 9 · #262 of 2238
Pipeline Troops Day honours the Russian military specialists who build field pipelines and keep fuel moving. Their work attracts less attention than a parade, but reliable supplies are essential to keeping vehicles and equipment running.
How it is celebrated: units congratulate personnel, recognise distinguished service and welcome veterans. Gatherings recall the branch’s history, training and operations that required fuel or water supplies to be established quickly.
A field pipeline is designed to be assembled from separate sections, then dismantled and transported elsewhere. The supply route itself can move as military needs change.
