Coach's Day in Russia
October 30 · Level 7 · #850 of 2238
Coach's Day in Russia celebrates sporting mentors, from those guiding a beginner's first session to those preparing champions. It is a chance to recognise their expertise, patience and encouragement, especially during the stretches when progress does not show on a scoreboard.
How it is celebrated: athletes and students thank their coaches, while clubs and sports schools share tributes and arrange gatherings. Teams recognise achievements and recall memorable competitions and training sessions.
An outstanding coach need not have been a star athlete. Coaching calls for its own skills: observing closely, explaining clearly, planning training and understanding how different people learn.
