Rescuers' Day in Kazakhstan
October 19 · Level 9 · #240 of 2238

Kazakhstan's Rescuers' Day honours the people who respond to fires, accidents and natural disasters. It brings the civil protection community together and recognises work in which preparation and trust between colleagues help save lives.
How it is celebrated: rescuers and veterans receive congratulations, distinguished staff are presented with awards, and events introduce rescue equipment to the public. Colleagues who died on duty are also remembered.
The date recalls the creation of Kazakhstan's State Committee for Emergency Situations in October 1995. It marks a milestone in the country's emergency response system as well as celebrating its people.
