Change Your Password Day
February 1 · Level 7 · #809 of 2238

This day is a nudge to refresh the passwords for your email, social accounts and banking. The logic is simple: an old password may have leaked somewhere, and a new one shuts that door again.
How it is celebrated: people create long, unique passphrases, install a password manager and switch on two-factor login. Offices often add a quick security chat, and teams can play a round of inventing a password nobody could crack in a minute.
Year after year, lists of the most common passwords in the world are topped by "123456" and similar strings. If you recognise yourself there, today is a very good day to change something.
