Armenian Air Defence Forces Day
May 17 · Level 10 · #176 of 2238
Armenian Air Defence Forces Day recognizes the service members who protect the country's airspace. It honours their training, vigilance and coordination in detecting and responding to threats from the air.
How it is celebrated: military units hold ceremonial assemblies and congratulate personnel. Distinguished service members receive awards, while veterans and fallen comrades are remembered.
Air defence involves much more than launching missiles. Radar detection and the communication of information to command teams are essential parts of the job: protecting the sky begins with knowing what is happening in it.
