World Wish Day
April 29 · Level 5 · #1322 of 2238

World Wish Day is dedicated to children with serious illnesses and the dreams they hold dearest. It reminds us that a single granted wish can give a child strength and a lot of joy.
How it is celebrated: volunteers and staff of wish-granting organisations share stories of the children they have helped, raise donations and throw small celebrations for them.
The movement grew out of the story of Chris Greicius, a seven-year-old with leukemia in Arizona. He dreamed of being a police officer, and local officers made him an honorary one.
