World Trauma Day
October 17 · Level 9 · #293 of 2238

This day reminds us that injuries are a leading cause of death and disability around the world, and that many of them can be prevented. Doctors and safety groups use it to talk about prevention and emergency care.
How it is celebrated: hospitals and rescue services run open first-aid lessons, workplaces refresh their safety rules, and schools and offices talk about staying safe on the road and at home.
According to the World Health Organization, injuries kill more than four million people every year.
