World Quantum Day
April 14 · Level 9 · #373 of 2238
On this day scientists and teachers invite everyone to explore quantum physics and the technologies built on it. The idea is to show that the science of the very small shapes everyday life, from lasers to computer chips.
How it is celebrated: universities and labs host open lectures, lab tours and hands-on workshops, while schools try out demonstrations and quantum-themed games. Plenty of people join in online as well.
The date is a nerdy wink: 4.14 echoes the first digits of Planck's constant, which is about 4.14 × 10⁻¹⁵ electronvolt-seconds.
