World MS Day
May 30 · Level 6 · #945 of 2238

World MS Day brings together people living with multiple sclerosis, their families and supporters. It builds understanding of life with MS and draws attention to access to diagnosis, treatment and everyday support.
How it is celebrated: patient organisations arrange community meetings, awareness activities and fundraising events. People share personal experiences and discuss ways to make daily life and public spaces more accessible.
The name “multiple sclerosis” refers to multiple areas of scarring in the central nervous system. Those areas can occur in different parts of the brain and spinal cord, helping explain why people's experiences vary.
