World Jellyfish Day
November 3 · Level 6 · #995 of 2238

World Jellyfish Day is dedicated to some of the oldest and oddest residents of the ocean. People mark it to learn more about jellyfish and to remember the part they play in marine ecosystems.
How it is celebrated: aquariums often run tours and talks, nature fans watch documentaries, and divers and travellers share their photos. It is also a good moment to brush up on beach safety rules.
Jellyfish have no brain, no heart and no bones. They have drifted through the seas for more than 500 million years, far longer than the dinosaurs were around.
