World Energy Efficiency Day
March 5 · Level 6 · #946 of 2238

This day reminds us that the cheapest energy is the energy we never had to use. It encourages smarter use of heat and electricity, which is good for the planet and for household bills.
How it is celebrated: conferences, school lessons and office campaigns take place around the world. Many people swap in LED bulbs, unplug idle devices, seal drafty windows or try a lights-off hour.
An LED bulb uses roughly 75 to 80 percent less electricity than an old incandescent one, and it lasts far longer.
