World Day for Assistive Technology
June 4 · Level 4 · #1415 of 2238

Glasses, wheelchairs, hearing aids and screen readers are all assistive technology. They help people learn, work and live independently, and this day pushes for making them easier to get.
How it is celebrated: organisations and communities hold online meetings, demonstrate devices and invite users to explain what really works for them. Many people share stories online and ask governments and companies to build with accessibility in mind.
According to WHO and UNICEF, at least 2.5 billion people worldwide need one or more assistive products, and that number could climb to almost 3.5 billion by 2050.
