World Autism Awareness Day

This day reminds us that autism is a difference in development shared by people all over the world. It aims to spread understanding of the autism spectrum, challenge stereotypes and make everyday life more welcoming for everyone.

How it is celebrated: landmarks and buildings glow blue, schools and libraries hold open lessons and talks with families and specialists, and employers discuss how to include autistic people in their teams.

The United Nations General Assembly adopted the resolution creating the day in December 2007, and it was first observed in 2008.
