Ukrainian Writing and Language Day

Ukrainian Writing and Language Day celebrates the Ukrainian language, its literary heritage and its place in the country's cultural life. It brings together fluent speakers, readers and writers, as well as people just beginning to learn.
How it is celebrated: schools and cultural organizations hold readings, literary events and language competitions. The occasion is associated with the Radio Dictation of National Unity, which draws participants in Ukraine and abroad.
The radio dictation is primarily an act of togetherness, rather than an exam. People with very different levels of Ukrainian can take part by writing the same text.
