Turkmenistan Border Guards Day
August 11 · Level 9 · #433 of 2238
Turkmenistan Border Guards Day honours the people who protect the country's borders. It recognises serving personnel alongside veterans whose experience helps prepare new generations for border duty.
How it is celebrated: units hold ceremonial gatherings, with awards and commendations presented to personnel. Serving guards and veterans receive congratulations, while remembrance events honour those who died in the line of duty.
The country's frontier spans strikingly different landscapes, from desert regions to the Caspian coast. Border protection therefore involves both land duties and patrols on the water.
