Tell an Old Joke Day
July 24 · Level 4 · #1521 of 2238

A playful day for dusting off old jokes and telling them one more time. The idea is simple: a good joke never gets old, and a bad one becomes a family legend.
How it is celebrated: friends and coworkers take turns firing off their most well-worn gags while everyone else pretends to hear them for the first time. You can even hold a mini contest for the oldest joke in the room.
An ancient Greek collection called the Philogelos, or "Laughter-Lover", has survived to this day with more than two hundred jokes. Many feature absent-minded scholars and fools, and they are still easy to recognise.
