Russian Armed Forces Electronic Warfare Specialist Day
April 15 · Level 8 · #533 of 2238
This Russian military observance honours electronic warfare specialists. Their work involves detecting radio signals, disrupting an opponent’s electronic systems and protecting their own equipment—tasks that have become central to modern military operations.
How it is celebrated: units congratulate their personnel and present awards or commendations. Meetings with veterans revisit the profession’s history and recognise the people who developed its technical foundations.
Electronic warfare is about more than jamming someone else’s communications. Keeping friendly electronic systems working despite interference is also part of the job, combining disruption with protection.
