Military Intelligence Day in Russia
November 5 · Level 10 · #213 of 2238
Russia's Military Intelligence Day honours those who gather and assess information for military commanders. It recognises serving personnel and veterans whose work often remains outside public view.
How it is celebrated: military units hold ceremonies and present awards, while veterans receive congratulations. Flowers are laid at memorials to remember intelligence personnel who died in service.
The date recalls the establishment of the Registration Directorate in 1918. Despite its administrative-sounding name, this body coordinated military intelligence for the emerging Red Army.
