International Zebra Day
January 31 · Level 7 · #673 of 2238
International Zebra Day celebrates Africa's famously striped equids and reminds us that they need protection.
How it is celebrated: zoos and conservation groups share zebra facts, schoolchildren draw and learn about them, and plenty of people put on something stripy for the day.
There are three zebra species: the plains zebra, the mountain zebra and Grévy's zebra. Grévy's is the largest of them and is classed as endangered.
