International Soup Day

International Soup Day is an informal food celebration for a dish that can be a modest lunch or the star of the table. It gives home cooks and curious eaters a reason to revisit familiar recipes and discover what other cuisines put in a bowl.

How it is celebrated: people make favourite soups, exchange family recipes and try unfamiliar combinations. Cooking communities share recipe collections, while meals together prompt friendly comparisons of different versions of the same dish.

Soup does not have to be hot or savoury. Alongside chilled gazpacho, there are sweet fruit and berry soups served as desserts.
