International Day of Conscience
April 5 · Level 2 · #1800 of 2238

The International Day of Conscience is a UN observance linking personal responsibility with a culture of peace. It invites people to consider how everyday choices, respect for others and a willingness to talk can help communities live together without violence.
How it is celebrated: educational meetings, discussions and intercultural events explore responsibility, mutual respect and peaceful ways to handle disagreements. Civil society organisations also share messages supporting peace.
The UN proclaimed the day in 2019. Its focus on conscience places an inward, personal experience at the heart of an international observance: choosing how to act even when nobody is watching.
