International Podiatry Day

Podiatry is the care of feet and ankles, from corns and ingrown nails to the foot problems that come with diabetes. The day reminds us that feet deserve attention as much as teeth or eyesight do.

How it is celebrated: podiatrists and clinics run awareness campaigns, open days and check-ups, and share tips on choosing shoes and looking after your feet.

Each foot has 26 bones, so your two feet hold roughly a quarter of all the bones in your body.
