International I Hate Coriander Day
February 24 · Level 2 · #1972 of 2238

A tongue-in-cheek day for everyone who finds coriander leaves, known as cilantro in the US, a plate-ruining herb. Here you may say out loud that you simply can't stand it.
How it is celebrated: haters swap kitchen horror stories online, order restaurant dishes with no herbs and argue cheerfully with the fans of the plant. The fans quietly keep out of the way.
The soapy taste some people notice has been linked to a variant of the olfactory receptor gene OR6A2. So the dislike is partly written in the genes.
