International Caravan Leader Day
September 24 · Level 6 · #1097 of 2238
International Caravan Leader Day recognizes the people who guide and accompany caravans, helping travelers and goods reach their destination. Their work brings together route knowledge, careful organization and responsibility for everyone making the journey.
How it is celebrated: there is no universal set of rituals. Observances include greetings and stories about caravan routes, the work of guides and the history of long-distance transport.
Caravanserais served as roadside inns with room for more than human guests. Pack animals could shelter there too, while travelers kept their goods within protective walls.
