Anniversary of the Enthronement of Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians
November 4 · Level 3 · #1692 of 2238
This church anniversary marks Karekin II's enthronement as Catholicos of All Armenians. For the Armenian Apostolic Church, it is an occasion to reflect on continuity in spiritual leadership and the bonds between believers in Armenia and abroad.
How it is celebrated: solemn services include prayers for the Catholicos. Clergy and communities offer congratulations and acknowledge his pastoral ministry.
The title “Catholicos” does not mean that its holder belongs to the Roman Catholic Church. It is an ancient title for a church leader, used in several Eastern Christian traditions.
