Mokosh Day
November 10 · Level 2 · #1798 of 2238
Mokosh Day appears in modern Slavic pagan calendars and honours a goddess associated with women's work, spinning and fertility. Communities differ in when and how they observe it, so there is no single shared festival calendar.
How it is celebrated: practitioners hold rituals dedicated to Mokosh and use thread, cloth and traditional crafts as meaningful symbols. Customs vary between groups and should not automatically be treated as practices preserved unchanged from ancient times.
Mokosh is the only female deity named in the chronicle's list of idols erected by Prince Vladimir in Kyiv.
