World Rock Day
July 13 · Level 10 · #147 of 2238

World Rock Day celebrates rock music and everyone who plays it, loves it or sings along in the car. The date traces back to Live Aid, the charity concert held on 13 July 1985.
How it is celebrated: radio stations fill the airwaves with rock classics, bands play gigs in clubs and on street corners, and friends gather to argue over the greatest albums and belt out their favourite songs.
Live Aid ran at the same time at Wembley Stadium in London and at John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia, raising money for famine relief in Ethiopia.
