Take a Monkey to Lunch Day
July 21 · Level 6 · #1026 of 2238

A lighthearted day in honour of monkeys, with plenty of reasons to treat them to lunch, at least in your imagination. It is also a nudge to care about primates and the forests they live in.
How it is celebrated: people visit the zoo, watch primate documentaries, host a fruity lunch with bananas and berries, and donate to wild monkey conservation. Please do not seat a real monkey at your table.
Capuchin monkeys use stones as tools to crack nuts, and in the wild monkeys eat far more than fruit, including leaves, seeds and insects.
