International No Diet Day

This day says that a person's worth has nothing to do with clothing size. It speaks up for a calmer relationship with food and with your own body.

How it is celebrated: people put the scales and calorie counting aside for a day, enjoy their favourite foods and share stories about accepting themselves. The light blue ribbon is its symbol.

The day was started in 1992 by the British campaigner Mary Evans Young, who had struggled with an eating disorder herself.
